DATU SAWAZISHA FUND TRAININGS Taita Taveta County through the ministry of Tourism, Trade, Industry and Community Affairs has today, the 16th Dec, 2014 started trainings on effective utilization of the recently disbursed DATU Sawazisha funds with the aim of having beneficiaries utilize the funds in appropriate ways that will aid realization of the objective of empowering them economically. In one of the trainings held in Mghange CBO Hall, Mghange/Mwanda Ward, participants were taken through effective ways of utilizing the funds and high potential areas of investment that promises good and sustainable returns. Mghange/Mwanda Ward Administrator, Ms. Rozina Wawuda challenged the youth and people living with disabilities in the area to take advantage of the fund as only 25% of the applications were received from them. Having undergone the training accordingly, the nine successful groups were presented with their cheques by Ms. Wawuda. DATU Sawazisha fund is an initiative of the County government aimed at empowering women, youth and people living with disabilities by offering credit facilities that will enable them engage in profitable activities and spur economic growth. Public Notice: County residents (particularly the youth, women and people living with disabilities) are hereby requested to turn up in large numbers in these trainings that will happen in all Wards in the County to among other reasons be made aware of the criteria of obtaining the loans in readiness for the next disbursement.
