DAY 3 of 22 - 22 Days of Fit Tips” Today’s post is about Box Jumps. Box Jumps are a great plyometric movement that challenges your conditioning and improves your vertical power. Take off - Go into a quarter squat position and “throw” your arms down and then up to incorporate the entire body into the exercise. Landing - Land soft (like a cat) and on the balls of the feet. Box jumps are easy on the joints because their is less eccentric load upon landing. Personally, I prefer people step down after landing…most of the injuries I’ve heard of with box jumps occur when people jump off the box. So please be careful coming off the box. They are also easily scalable…simply use a smaller box to accommodate your abilities. Please share this post or tag anyone who you feel would benefit from this content.
