DAY 36 into the chase of the Toothfish poacher Thunder by the Sea Shepherd ship Bob Barker and the two vessels continue to go nowhere is a tense stand-off some 700 miles south of South Africa. The Thunder cant shake off the Bob Barker which is the faster vessel and appears to be attempting to wait out Sea Shepherd. If that is the case it will be a very long wait. The Bob Barker has plenty of fuel and provisions. If the Thunder attempts to head to any port, Sea Shepherd will notify Interpol to meet them in that port. Meanwhile the Sam Simon with decks piled high with confiscated gill nets is heading towards the three poaching vessels that the New Zealand Navy allowed to get away last week. Sea Shepherd is urging the New Zealand Navy to return to the Southern Ocean to assist the Sam Simon in stopping the poachers. Meanwhile the Jairo Mora Sandoval is in Cape Verde doing conservation work with the NGO Biosphera. The Steve Irwin is berthed in Williamstown, Victoria, Australia and the Brigitte Bardot in in Paris. The Martin Sheen is in Los Angeles.
