DAY 46 : OMG Is That Saugat Malla! If there was one thing that I was looking forward to today, it was definitely to attend the 60 Seconds Film Festival in Cine-de-Chef at Kathmandu’s CTC Mall. I was invited by Abdus Miya through Open Space Nepal – he is someone who I’ve blogged about once and have heard nothing but positive things about since my arrival here. Even though we tend to focus on the latest cameras and equipment - at the end of the day, it’s about the story, message or the reality being captured. If that is powerful enough, has the ability to strike a chord then it will work with the people and they will love it – regardless of it being filmed with a basic mobile phone or a decade old digital camera. I was also very impressed and for sure overwhelmed with how the event was organised. Was it just me or were there photographers everywhere. I really wasn’t expecting all that and so many, I guess volunteers, stood around greeting ‘guests’ as they went into the cinema. Then again, the ticket did say VIP. This was all new to me. I was like OMG, maybe I should’ve gone home and atleast made half an effort to look VIP. Errrr lol. [READ IT ALL]
