DAY TWENTY #BRUNEI, SOUTHEAST ASIA #Pray4Brunei After implementing Islamic Sharia law, the Brunei government issued a decree banning 19 Islamic words from use by non-Muslims. Some of the 19 forbidden words include Allah, Firman Allah (“the Word of God”), ilahi (“divine”), imam (“priest”), mu’min (“believer”), and solat (“prayer”). According to Christianity Today, “The country implements full Islamic law, considers pastor’s ‘enemies,’ and monitors Christians through spies and the police.” Pray for Brunei to become a godly, Christian nation. Pray for the Brunei government to repeal the harsh Sharia penal code. Pray for the safety and protection of the Brunei Church (The Bible, Psalm 37:39-40). #LEBANON, MIDDLE EAST Pray4Lebanon While the presidential office in Lebanon is always of Maronite Catholic faith, Christian Believers comprise 40 percent of the population of the country. Currently Lebanon is seeking to elect a new president through Parliament vote. But the majority of voters left the ballot blank. With increased violence, Hezbollah in the south, and almost one million Syrian refugees, Lebanon needs strong leadership. Pray for the right man to be elected to power who will have the respect of others (Muslims, Druze, and Christian Believers). Pray for the Church in Lebanon to continue to care for and minister to the Syrian refugees; they are being a light in the darkness (The Bible, John 1:5).
