DAY TWO: Today, I am thankful for abilities...These are truly gifts from God, which have enabled me to be a blessing in some way to others, and in return, to experience so much joy and fulfillment. 1. For the gift of being able to play the piano, even though I only had the opportunity to formally study up to Grade 1 music. Sitting down at the piano in the quiet hours, and playing old hymns of the faith, such as. My Faith Looks Up To Thee, or What A Friend We Have In Jesus, or My Jesus I Love Thee, adds such richness to meditative moments, and solace in times of anxiety or sadness. 2. For the gift of teaching. I have had the privilege of teaching subjects such as Biology, English, Creative Writing and Science to a vast number of young people over the past forty four years, and this has given me the chance to also, hopefully, inspire and mentor some of them along this journey called life. But I have learned as much from my students as I have taught. God bless them all. 3. For the gift of singing. And this is not about me, although I would agree, and I am thankful, that I can sing a song in key. It is about the ability to appreciate voices blended in harmony, and the gift of arranging harmonies. I am truly thankful for the human voice, for there is no other instrument like it.
