DBN DAY - An Allure of Love - Hard to Resist DBN day was a humongous celebration hosted by the stalwarts of existing crew members for the War Veterans of 1971 Indo-Pak War for winning the BATTLE HONOR DAY FOR THE UNIT BY THEIR EFFORTS The hosting was to the best of their ability in the given existing circumstances The existing preponderance of warmth in their hearts from the day of the arrival till departure was commendable On 05 Dec the day opened with Mandir parade followed by lunch and bridge session in the mess with Sammy organizing breakfast while the ladies had Coffee session with Sudha g And ladies The lunch was organized by Mahabir and the evening ended in JCOs mess dinner while ladies were again sumptuously treated for ladies night in Jammu by Sudha g ( Mrs Ramesh ) and her team of ladies while Arun g flew in to join Mahabir and his wife and Abhay and Ghosh Dada stepped in too discreetly On 06 Dec morning the day opened with COs Darbar with greatest Unrecognized hero the TAU ( Brig Mohan) the unsung hero yet the most active soul in the battle took the mike to bless all ranks and the other living legend present there YOURS TRULY of the DBN Regt was all smiles for the glory gatha of the DBN being sung by one and sundry After the Darbar the old veterans were presented with a Turban and white Lohi of DBN and were later ushered out for warm cup of tea with snacks with men. It was great fun talking to the boys of the great regiment. Later moved for a one to one chat with the CO in his office over a cup of hot coffee was a great toast to good old memories and CO giving a brief on where the unit was when he took over and what all he had achieved since the taking over He proudly mentioned about OUTSTANDING PRACTICE CAMP REPORT ACHIEVED during the current practice camp (to make us feel elevated of leading the Regiment to attain new heights) from where they had just returned Samson led the crowd to mess for a session of bridge and breakfast with ladies over Aloo ka Sabzi & Pranthas with famous andai ki bhujia being the Mess Havaldar Dharambirs special Evening was the gala function when Harinder with his beautiful wife joined up while Paramjit with his better half and his son made us feel proud of them An old stalwart SL Sharma with his wife was the star attraction The evening opened with the DBN film which was short and sweet and could have been a little longer if the battle was narrated as witnessed alive by the two stalwarts of the battle TAU ( Brig Mohan) & CHACHAJI (Ken)who were present rather than restructured on assumption considered facts to present as believed facts It was followed by barbecue drinks music dance tambola and culminated with sumptuous dinner while the ladies and officers sang beautiful songs to keep us alive in the battle zone celebrations The 07 Dec was. Grand Finale day started with breakfast in the mess organized by Abhaya Raj g leading to barkhana with great entertainment program where ladies were presented with momentos A super duper entertainment program was organized by the local troupe It was really thrilling for men I could feel The men enjoying Later in the evening we were feasted in DBN Tigers den with American, South Indian & Italian dinner all prepared by Sudha g herself of course based on the recipes given by me....,, Abhaya Raj Sharma left on 07 even after Barakhana along with Harinder while Paramjit left on the 07 Dec and TAU & CHACHAJI LEFT on 08 Dec as it was our wedding anniversary and we were invited for another celebration in Hyatt Ludhiana While Ghosh Dada, Arun g and Sammy left on 08 Dec later All said and done it was a HOME AWAY FROM HOME FOR ALL OF US WE WERE BLESSED THANKS TO RAMESH AND HIS TEAM OF DBN CREW......,, Amen!
