DBS NEWS: A CALL ON GOVT TO RE-AWARD ROADS REVOKED The State Government is in court with Wokson International Limited in pursuit of about Three Billion Naira paid to the firm for refund for jobs not executed on three projects awarded by the State Government. The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Charles Ajuyah [SAN] disclosed this while delivering the Mid Term report of the performance of his Ministry to Newsmen at Asaba. Mr. Charles Adjuya said Wokson International is to refund about 3.1 Billion Naira to the State Government for funds received for Works not done on the Sector C of the Asaba/Ughelli Road Dualization Project which has been revoked and re-awarded. The Attorney General also said the State is claiming about 438.4 Million Naira for the balance of funds received by Wokson for work not done on the contract for Okwagbe, Otutuama, Esaba, Emadadja, Ophirigbala, Iwhre-Ogun Roads in Ughelli South LGA which has also been revoked by the State Government for alleged poor performance by the construction Company. Additionally, the State Government is claiming from Wokson about 243.8 Million Naira as refund for money collected for work not done on the Ophori/Agbarho Okpara Inland Road which the Government has revoked for poor execution by Wokson construction firm. The legal luminary said Government went to court following failure of Wokson International Limited to present itself for settlement of the claims.
