DCR EXECUTIVE PRODUCER HAMISH OUT & ABOUT dunooncommunityradio.org Now that summer seems to be here and with more and more events being announced for the coming weekends DCR Executive Producer Hamish Bear decided to leave the Control desk and have a stroll through the Town to see how some of the this weekends events were getting on. A visit to his old friend Dr Bike at the Dunoon Red Cross Hall who has been celebrating Britain’s biggest bike fix in the only way he knows how---Fixing bikes of course. Hamish said hello David from West Coast Window Cleaners who was visiting Dr Bike to have his incredible Mountain Bike checked over although not the best form of transport for a Window Round, Where would the ladders go? Dr Bike has had a busy week at the Dunoon Link Club, Edward Street were he repaired and got road worthy lots of bicycle’s all ready for the summer. The link Club folk where also at the Dunoon Red Cross with their charity stalls with Tombola, Raffles and of course Home Baking table. Hamish was particular looking forward to going on down to Dunoon’s pier to see the arrival of the last sea –going paddle steamer in the World the Waverley. Magnificently restored with towering funnels, timber decks, gleaming varnish and brass and the sound of those mighty engines. Quite a few folk had the same idea and of course it wasn’t long before Hamish found some new friends including brother and sister Olivia and Ben from Dunoon.
