DDC Kup reviews arrangements for I-Day celebrations KUPWARA, JULY 31: The District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Mr. Itrat Hussain Rafique today convened a district officers meeting to review the preparedness and arrangements for ensuing 66thIndependence Day celebrations at District Headquarters Kupwara and at Tehsil Headquarters. The SSP Kupwara, Mr. Abdul Jabar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Abdul Aziz Bhat besides officers of various departments was present in the meeting. It was decided in the meeting that the main function would be held at District Police Lines Kupwara. The function will start with Shahnai Wadan at 8 a.m. and the flag hosting will take place at District Police Lines by the chief guest at 9 a.m. The march past will be presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, Forest Protection Force, Fire and Emergency Services and school children. The Committee were constituted headed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara assisted by the officers of R&B, Police, Agriculture, Information, Education, Revenue who will monitor the preparedness, arrangements with regard to seating arrangements, invitation of guests, refreshment to school children, transport, electricity, drinking water facility, security and medicare facilities. The District Development Commissioner, Kupwara exhorted upon the officers of PDD, Municipal Committee Kupwara and other committee members for making elaborate arrangements in and around the District Police Lines from August 11 to 15, 2013. I-Day shall also be celebrated at Handwara and Karnah Tehsil headquarters where the chief guests will unfurled the national flag at 10 a.m. followed by march past and cultural programmes.
