DDC reviews Muharram arrangements ZADIBAL TO HOST CONTROL ROOM Srinagar, Oct 30: The District Development Commissioner Farooq Ahmed Shah on Wednesday reviewed arrangements for the ensuing Muharram saying that a joint control room would be made operational at Zadibal for “better administration”. An official spokesman said the meeting held under the chairmanship of Shah, was also attended by representatives of Shia associations including All J&K Shia Association, Ithad-ul- Muslimeen, Khankahi Soukhta, Chairman Relief Hussaini Committee/Blood Bank Alamgari Bazaar Srinagar, Chairman Hussaini Yadgar Committee, Gund Hasi Bhat, Chairman Idara Auqaf Imamia Shalimar and Hussani Welfare Organization Hasanabad and Bazme Sadat-e-Hamdani. “The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar issued on the spot directions to all the departments for making required arrangements well in advance,” the spokesman said. Shah directed the PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply to such areas. He asked the Directorate of Health to ensure proper healthcare facilities like ambulances in areas where Muharram related functions are to be held. Shah assured the people that he would personally visit the concerned areas to get a first- hand account of the implementation of his directives and review working of the Zadibal control room. “It was given out that adequate stocks of essentialities which include 4000 quintals of rice, 2700 quintals of sugar, atta, K oil and LPG have been kept available in Shia dominated areas of Srinagar district. About 5000 quintals of firewood have also been dumped in these areas,” an official handout said. The Deputy Commissioner asked officers of Srinagar Municipal Corporation to ensure better sanitation and cleanliness in these areas. Source: greater kashmir
