DEATH OF ADOLPHUS OKONKWO, KAFAYAT ODUNSI, TUNDE OLUWANIKE, A SAD AND MONUMENTAL LOSS …GOV DICKSON Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson has described the untimely death of three journalists of the Lagos State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in a ghastly motor accident, as most shocking, sad and a monumental loss to the their families and the union. In a condolence message to the NUJ, the Bayelsa State Governor noted the invaluable contributions made by Adolphus Okonkwo, National Financial Secretary of the NUJ, Kafayat Odunsi of NTA, Victoria Island, Lagos and Tunde Oluwanike of Radio Nigeria, Ibadan Network Centre to the growth of the profession and National development, stressing that they will be greatly missed by all. He emphasised that, their death came at a critical period of the nation’s history, when their services were most needed.According to Hon. Dickson, though there are no words to ease the pains inflicted by their sudden demise, he urged members of their immediate families, the NUJ at State and National levels to take solace in the fact that, the three have left valuable footprints in sands of time. While, expressing his deepest sympathy on behalf of the government and people of Bayelsa State to the NUJ and their families, he prayed God to comfort all those they have left behind as well as grant them eternal rest.
