DELHI TRAFFIC POLICE DATED 14.03.2014 Traffic Advisory Cyclothon on 16th March 2014 Indian Cancer Society, Delhi alongwith Cycling Federation of India is organizing a Cyclothon on 16th March to promote healthy lifestyle amongst children for avoiding cancer, diabetes, obesity and cardio-vascular disease. The assembly of the participants shall be at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The Cyclothon shall be flagged off from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at 7.30 a.m. and will finish at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at 9.30 a.m. and will be followed by prize distribution ceremony. Time of Cyclothon: 7.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. Number of Participants: 60 cyclists Expected gathering: 1500 visitors Route of Cyclothon: Start inside Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium – come out from Gate No. 1 - Bhishma Pitamah Marg - left turn on Lodhi Road - right U-Turn from Max Muller Road intersection - straight on Lodhi Road - right U-Turn under Lodhi flyover - Lodhi Road - turn left on Bhishma Pitamah Marg and enter Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium. Cyclists will take 12 laps on Lodhi Road between Lodhi flyover and Max Muller Road intersection to cover a total distance of 5 Kms. Entry to Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium Entry to the stadium is through Gate Nos. 5 & 14. All invitees, participants and spectators intending to go to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium are requested to reach before 5.30 am. After 6.00 am the restrictions on general traffic shall be imposed. Parking Plan: There is very limited parking available for the event for which different labels have been given by the organizers. All categories of invitees must follow the route for parking as per their categorization. Traffic Diversion Points: Bhisham Pitahmah Marg – Kotla Red Light Lodi Road – Aurobindo ‘T’ Point Lodi Road – Mathura Road Lodi Road – Lala Lajpat Rai Marg under flyover Moolchand Crossing Alternative Route: Motorists are requested to avoid the route of the Cyclothon mentioned above and take alternate route via Aurobindo Marg, Subramanium Bharti Marg, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg and Ring Road. General public and motorists are also advised to use public transport to avoid congestion on roads. General public and motorists are advised to plan their journeys keeping the Cyclothon in mind and advance their journeys so that delay can be taken into account. Motorists are advised to follow the directions of the traffic policemen posted on roads to avoid inconvenience. Traffic police will be available to divert and regulate the traffic.
