DEVELOPMENTS........Jose Mourinho will keep Thibaut Courtois in the Chelsea squad next season and leave him in the shadow of Petr Cech if he decides to play against his side in the Champions League, according to reports in Spain. The Belgian keeper has been loaned to Atletico Madrid for the past three seasons and yesterday, his current side were drawn against his parent club Chelsea in the semi-finals of Europe’s top competition. Chelsea had previously claimed that a clause was in place which prevents Courtois from playing against them if they were to meet. However, a UEFA statement revealed that any such deal is illegal. Despite this, sources close to Mourinho have stated that the Portuguese manager is confident that Courtois will not play due to the agreement they had at the start of the season. Should Courtois decide to play, Mourinho has threatened to bring the 21-year-old back to Chelsea and leave him as an understudy to Petr Cech for the next two seasons, according to Marca.
