DID YOU KNOW: that the town of #Wrightwood now has a 3-person paramedic engine company housed out of Fire Station 14 @ Hwy. 2 and Elm. St. This is a change from a 2-person paramedic engine company that was in place for the last few years. It was also not that long ago that station 14 (formerly station 101) was staffed with just one person on the engine. Wrightwood has a rich EMS history in #SanBernardinoCounty and is home to some of the first practicing paramedics. As temperatures decrease and winter approaches, the call volume in Wrightwood significantly increases due to #MtnHighSki areas opening. It is not uncommon for station 14 to respond to numerous trauma related calls to the ski resort on a daily basis and it is also not uncommon for the ambulance from station 14 to be gone on a transport when another call for service is received. A paramedic engine company staffed in the community allows advanced level care to be provided prior to the ambulance arriving on scene.
