DILANA at De Gigant, Apeldoorn Nov. 21st. 2014 Hello friends, here is my personal review from the show last Friday. After a horrible 6 hour drive I arrived around 7 at the hotel, but in advance I have to say that the gig was it more than worth. Just hooked up with my Dutch friends Jacky, Maaike and Tamara and we went to the venue a real great one. Coming in I met my friends Jorge and Kirsten, always a pleasure to meet you. Normally all standings, but the personal was very friendly to help me out with a chair. It was not sold out (sorry for you Dilana, your performances really needs to be honored much more…) so I placed my chair in the first row. At 9 the band started to play “Holiday” and one minute later the one and only DILANA hits the stage and started singing, goosebumps overall as ever when she starts singing. Followed by fulminant versions of “My Drug”and “Hate U” The next song was “Somebody Else” I had a special rememberance on that one, 4 weeks ago in Hardenberg Dilana came to my place and held the micro to me to sing one verse but I was so surprised and speechless that it didn’t work… Followed by “Zombie” and “Dead Flower” my fave Dilana song “Dirty Little Secret” came up with a funny conversation at the start, she told the audience that this is a good time to talk about dirty secrets, and were asking if anybody is willing to to that right now and asked me in person, I told her that it might be too long for now, she breaks out laughing, I think she was thinking about a male body part J. Next one was “Velvet Covered Stone” done very well. After this she she announced that she has problems with her back, I already had the feeling that she is not so well as always, I could see the pain in her eyes. So here a personal note my friend Dilana, please take care of you, all of us needs you so much, but if you need your time to relax please do it. But back to the show, next track was “Beautiful Monster” probably the best, most intensive version I have ever heard till now. Before she did “Falling Apart” she said that the audience should deny her, she had some problems with that regarding the rehearsals that evening. Funny the way it is the drummer missed the entry two times, much laughter there but in the end another great version. The next song was a great surprise “Hangover” really rocks the house, I love it so much and hope it will see the light of day on CD. “Woman I Am” was the next, Dilana left the stage to arm some friends in the audience, what a great gesture as always
