DILLAHUNTY Florene Lazelle Dillahunty, age 92, of Mangum, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013, at Grace Living Center, in Mangum. Mrs. Dillahunty was born in Mangum on July 1, 1921, to Elijah and Minnie (Parker) Stover. After attending school in Mangum, she met the love of her life, Fred Dillahunty, and they were married on May 17, 1939, in Lone Wolf. They spent seventy wonderful years together before his death on December 1, 2009. For a short time, they made their home East of Mangum where Fred ran the old Wooten Gas Station. They later moved to California where Fred worked as a crane operator in the shipyards. Returning to Greer County for a short time, they moved back to California in 1946, and spent the next thirty-one years there while Fred worked for U.S. Steel. In 1980, Fred and Lazelle returned to Greer County where she made her home until her death. Lazelle loved cooking, buying clothes, talking on the phone and taking in stray kids, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Irene Reber and Oleta Allgood and one brother, Ney Stover, she is survived by two sons, Freddie Dillahunty and wife Jeanie of Mangum and Gary Dillahunty and wife Sandy of Texas; seven grandchildren, Debi Davis and husband Tony, David Dillahunty and wife Sarah, Denise Webb and husband Scotty, Darci Gable and husband Tyler, Deanna Perry and husband Shaun Owens, Darla Williams and husband Brian and Dena Scott and husband Rusty; seventeen great grandchildren, Toby Knapp, Tara Zachary, Tori Knapp, Christopher Dillahunty, Jordan Gatlin, Falyn Webb, Fischer Webb, Asher Gable, Ayden Gable, Jordan Perry, Jake Perry, Jarett Perry, Tristan Williams, Taylor Williams, Trevor Williams, Gracie Scott and Greyson Scott; seven great-great grandchildren, Clayton Knapp, Cambry Knapp, Conner Knapp, Conley Knapp, Cale Zachary, Caylor Zachary and Cooper Knapp along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Lazelle Dillahunty will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at the Mangum First United Methodist Church with Rev. Marsha Purtell officiating. Interment will follow at the Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
