DINOSAUR OF THE WEEK! Name: Jubbulpuria tenuis Name Meaning: Slender Jabalpur one First Described: 1933 Described By: von Huene & Matley Classification: Dinosauria, Saurischia, Theropoda, Neotheropoda, Averostra, Ceratosauria Jubbulpuria is a dubious genus of dinosaur. Also coming from India, specifically the Lameta Formation, it dates back to about 70 million years ago, in the Maastrichtian stage of the Late Cretaceous. It is known only from some caudal vertebrae and a tail vertebra, each from different specimens. As such it is not well known. It was probably a small predator, about 1.2 meters long. It’s classification isn’t really specified; originally it was described as a coelurid dinosaur, but since it isn’t known from much material it can’t really be placed anywhere. It might have been a ceratosaur though. It was the contemporary of the abelisaur Rajasaurus and the sauropod Isisaurus.
