DIRECT & UPFRONT: Gov’t Shutdown-Gov’t Commits A Crime/Offense On The Nation. Let’s face it, when people send their representatives to Washington, they send them to govern/represent their/ the nation’s interests and shutting the gov’t is not one of those interests. Shutting down the gov’t has never been part of good governance of a pluralist/democratic society. Pluralist/democratic societies governed by compromises, and tolerance for the common good of the nation. Lawmakers do not have the right(s) to act recklessly and default on their obligation. They have no power of their own but that which is given to them by the people and shutting down the gov’t isn’t one of such powers but to act responsible in promote the interests of the nation. The lawmakers now not only failed the every people that elected them to office, but the entire nation. The actions of both Republicans and Democrats are weakening America’s credibility abroad and harming civil society at home. This kind of politics one would expect in Third World countries not in America. The political gamesmanship must be stopped in Washington and the country’s interest must come first. Now this: The worst crime a gov’t can commit on its people is to injure their well-being/human right and civil rights. The people need a national, not a Republican or a Democrat solution. A call for Washington to stop the assault on the nation.
