DISCOUNTING OUR LOSES When I was in the seminary, I loaned a book to a friend that had a personal message from my brother inscribed inside the front cover. When my friend left the seminary, he packed the book and I never saw it again. No one get through life without losses. We lose friends, treasured possessions, opportunities, and even loved ones. WE do well to grieve these losses, but we should not let them consume us. We go to the Lord who lost everything for us, allowing us to put losses in perspective and live in remembrance.
