DISCUSSION OF THE WEEK. WHAT IS YOUR STAND ON THE SECURITY OF SALVATION? Many in the Christendom believe that since Salvation is By Faith Alone in Jesus; and Not Works, hence mankind has nothing to do with saving himself, and as such God would not require men to do something to maintain their salvation. Further more, supporters of the first view of eternal security of salvation say that Whether or not a believer lives a holy life has nothing to do with the free gift (Romans 5:15) of salvation and the gifts of God are irrevocable. Adding that those who say otherwise are adding works to grace, which the Bible condemns (Romans 11:6). By this view, it is believed that We receive the gift of eternal life (John 10:28), not temporary life. Someone who is born again (John 3:3) cannot be “unborn.” After being adopted into God’s family (Romans 8:15), we will not be kicked out. THUS, ONCE A MAN IS SAVED, HE REMAINS SAVED! ON THE OTHER HAND, another school of thought believes that, there is a possibility of loosing ones salvation through sinful life. Thus it is warned that he that thinketh he standeth should take heed lest he falls. Now, beloved people of God, what is your opinion in the light of the scriptures on this issue. is it possible for a person who was once saved to be lost or is salvation eternally secured against loss? Lets discuss!
