=DO NOT READ= I rarely talk about something that has to do with RELIGION and this point, I want to spare some thoughts on it.I stifled for some time, contemplating whether or not I am going to post this on Facebook. I happened to see on Facebook a photo of an Ebola virus infected person. It looks morbid; very awful, unsavory. The rashes, the scary lumps, the skin ulcers and all the dreadful physical effects that allegedly this virus can cause are just so out of this world. But what really caught my attention was the caption of the said photo. It was a short prayer that asks people to type the word A-M-E-N on the comment box for their own protection. I mean, seriously? I have nothing against the idea of praying for our safety. What I heapingly disapprove is the fact that the photo solicits LIKES and COMMENTS to gain what,POPULARITY? I try checking on some of the comments and figured that the symptoms of the virus dont actually match to what the photo was trying to come across. As expected, AMENs burgeoned to accumulate such avalanche. While Many got furious, I was infuriated too, for Chris sake. I know that many FBookers are fully aware about the intentions of these ASSHOLES-USING-GODS-NAME-IN-VAIN-GENIUSES but surprisingly, they furtively ended up commenting on the photo. It is simply deceiving, misinforming and horrifying. Myriad types of these graphical materials are spread over the internet. I have seen several of these before. A cited example could be the Prophecy of Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj about the Typhoon Yolanda and the most dreaded flesh-eating bacteria that was predicted to spring out in Pangasinan, Philippines. Honestly speaking, it scared the hell out of me. I have also come across photos of images of Mary and a prayer on the caption also soliciting comments of AMEN or else the country will suffer from catastrophe. I normally do not pay attention to these things on Facebook. I would rather hit the like button for those hilarious videos than taking time to comment on the former. I mean, dont get me wrong. AMEN is just a four letter word and I can easily type that in on my keyboard if my will says so. Then, it is but a sacred word. The word is a declaration of affirmation found in the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament. Therefore, to say (or type) AMEN means to affirm you believe in something. I DONT! Because I see a great mistake in it. I opted not to give a heck because I do not affirm that the rest who were unable to comment on that photo will suffer. I dont see any good in scaring people. It isnt cool to me. The peoples foundation of their beliefs should be FAITH and not FEAR. Partly, I can refer this blunder to the people who are supposed to be vested with authority. I feel bad about the incompetence of the church leaders. If they were just only able to let the people understand about the essence of their faith, this ignorance could have been avoided. People are completely misled; misled by the little knowledge about the religion they practice and are misled by wicked few who took advantage of their lack of education. Looking at these Photos (and videos), i just cant help myself but feel despondent. I feel hopeless for these people who want nothing but to use Gods name in vain. (thank you for not reading)
