DO YOU KNOW THAT . . . The establishment of Police Science and Criminology Profession in Bago City College and the entire City of Bago was made possible through the brilliant vision and efforts of the late and beloved City Mayor Hon. MANUEL Y. TORRES, as one of the founding “Father” in 1994. In his objective to improved Law Enforcement functions in his locality and education of the youth, criminology education was been founded. The efforts of the creation of the course was also made possible through the support and inspiration of its city officials and the other founding fathers, particularly ATTY. BRIAN MATIR, the secretary of the Sangguniang Panlunsod and member of the College Board of Trustees; HON. SAMUEL J. A. ESPINOSA, the past member of the Sangguniang Panlunsod and also member of the Board of Trustees; MRS. BARBARA PAT E. MONDIA, the College Registrar; P/SUPT.MILKO LIRASAN, the former City Chief of Police; PROF, ARKADY V. RENKO, your present Department Chairman, and DR. SHEMAR DAVID, as the former O.I.C. of the College, now the Dept. Head of the Technical department. At first the POLICE SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY, a two (2) year course related to Criminology was been established under DECS order Nr. 56 dated Jan. 27, 1995. The course operated in three (3) classrooms only and a Police Crime Laboratory created within the College Campus by the City, for dual purposes: for City Local Police Crime Investigation, and for Police Science students. The pioneer mentors and instructors teaching professional subjects in the course were the following: 1.ATTY. BRIAN N. MATIR – the Adviser, teaching Legal subjects. 2.PROF. ARKADY RENKO – the coordinator, teaching criminology subjects. 3.P/SUPT. MILKO LIRASAN – teaching Law Enforcement subjects. 4.P/INSP. ALBERTO PABILONA – teaching practicum and marksmanship subjects. 5.SPO4 ALFONSO TIGNERO (Ret.) – teaching Criminal Investigation subjects. 6.SPO4 ROBERTO JUARANA – teaching Criminal Investigation subjects. 7.MR. DANILO DELOS SANTOS – teaching Police Report Writing subjects. 8.MR. RENATO SILABA – teaching Criminalistics subjects. 9.MR. SANY BALBOA – teaching Criminalistics subjects. 10.MR. JOSE ENRIQUEZ – teaching Martial Arts.
