DOES GOD EXIST? The Bible says that we are created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27). Among other things, this means that we are rational thinking beings similar to our Creator. However, if we are not created in the image of God, but are the by-products of the processes of random blind chance, plus time, plus matter, as atheistic evolution teaches, then why trust our thinking processes at all? If we are ultimately the outcome of random accidental processes, then it follows that our mental states, such as thinking, reasoning, beliefs, memories, and the search for truth, etc., are random and accidental as well. Those who deny that we are created in the image and likeness of the God of the Bible cannot account for rational thinking, etc. The Christian can.
