DOES GOD KNOW I NEED ALL THESE THINGS Matt 6: 25- 34 As we enter into the second half of the year, one thing that is common to any one thinking of tomorrow is to worry about what they shall eat, drink, wear, stay and about what tomorrow holds for them. If we stretch the needs further, it will include what will be the future of our relationships, our jobs, our church, our business, our finances etc. The passage today says Do not worry about anything. Many Christians hold on to this passage, and do not worry about anything. They only go to church and spend the whole day just praying, is that what God wants us to do? For me,this is false piety. Someone may ask me, but God said we should look at the birds, they do not sow or reap. They gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly father feeds them, Matt. 6:2. Listen to this : Birds work extremely hard. They make nest for themselves, they get food for their young, they do not leave anything to chance. Birds are not irresponsible. Many Christians are irresponsible , waiting for God to take care of them. I read an interesting story about a Christian who was caught in a flood and his neighbours put sandbags to their doors and he said, Dont worry, the Lord will save me And the water rose, so he had to move upstairs and the neighbours came past in a boat to fetch him but he said, Dont worry, the Lord will save me. And the water rose, so he had to sit on the roof and an helicopter came to pick him up but he said Dont worry, the Lord will save me, And of course, the flood waters rose and he eventually drowned and when he got to heaven, he said to God, why didnt you say Me? And God said to him. I gave you sand bags, a boat and an helicopter, so do not blame me!. Ths is irresponsibility. If you do not have plans for the second half of the year, you may suffer the same fate that you suffered in the first half of the year. If a Christian is not worried about the food he and his family will eat, the clothes they will wear, if they dont worried about their finances or about their relationships, business and jobs, then, they are not well mentally. Some who tell us Do not worry about anything are those who do not have these needs. It is easy to say something is worthless when we have it in abundance. If you have a real lack or problem and do not know what next will happen, you must be worried whether you are a Christian or not. I want to say that before I wrote this write up, I read Matt 6:32 Your father know your needs, these things, no not worry like the pagans. Philippines 4:19, My God will supply all your needs according to His riches in Jesus Christ,Matt. 7:9-11. .....If you who are evil knows how to give good things to your children, how much more will your father who is in heaven, will He not give good things. The real meaning of seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and every other things shall be added unto you is: To put God first before anything else: To allow Jesus to be king in every area of our lives, To submit everything we do to him, To hand over every area of our lives to Him. That means we need to draw a plan and hand it over Jesus. We need to work and do charity as the Philippines did before Paul said God will supply all their needs. We need to pay our tithes. We need to worship God in holiness and truth, we need to hand over our relationships, our jobs,our money, our church, our future plans to God for blessings. Finally, we must work and be believe that God is in control. That means we must do our best and leave the rest for God. We should not worry and stress ourselves running after these things. Psalms 23 says goodness, mercy (favours) shall follow us all the days of our lives. May God save you from worry and stress. Psalms 84 : 11 says No good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless Exercise Sumbit your petition today for blessings. Prayers O God save me from false piety and grant me the grace to handover every area of my life to you, in Jesus name.
