DOING THE WORD …be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, - TopicsExpress

DOING THE WORD …be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves (James 1:22). You see, Christians are Word doers, because, they are born of the Word; being their source of life, they can only be sustained by the Word. The life of the Christian is within the Word; because anything outside the Word is not of God, and the Christian must have nothing to do with such, for anything without the Word profiteth nothing, even as the Lord made it clear to us, that, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but (the Word) shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35). Therefore, the Christian having received eternal life through faith in the Gospel, do “…not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18). That’s, anything that the Christian gives his time to in this life, which is not for the sake of the Kingdom of God is not necessary. Because, any other thing outside the Word is temporal, but the Christian is born into eternity, therefore, he that is born into eternity must follow that which is eternal. The life of the Christian is founded on the Word, so the Christian lives in the Word, by the Word, and for the Word. The Christian and the Word is inseparable, because the life of the Christian is of the Word and in the Word. The Christian without the Word is akin to the fish without water. How possible can the fish remain alive without water? So as the Christian without the Word is dead; because the life of the Christian is in the Word. Thus comes the essentiality for the Christian to stick to the Word, for the Word of God is the mirror that shows the nature of the Christian to the Christian; no Christian can really know himself without the Word, neither can he live successfully outside the Word. For this purpose, let me teach you four points by which you will be enlightened, and enabled to apply the Word in your everyday life. 1. Have absolute trust in the Word You see, before you can completely give out yourself to something, you must first be totally convinced of the reality of that thing. You must be fully persuaded that definitely exact results will surely be obtained. You must have no doubt to the certainty of that, then, you’ll be rightly positioned to willingly go all out for that, without looking elsewhere; but moving straight to the destination; giving out everything to achieve the purpose. You see, the psalmist testified to the faithfulness of the Word, saying, “For ever, O LORD, thy Word is settled in heaven. Thy faithfulness is unto all generations...” (Psalm 119:89-90). Because that God is not a man that should lie, nor a son of man that should say a thing, and latter changes His mind, become “…fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He (is) able also to perform” (Romans 4:21). And that He is worthy of your trust; for His “…Word is truth” (John 17:17). 2. Meditate on the Word You see, to cause the Word to reside in you effectively, or to acquaint yourself with the Word, you must gain the consciousness of the Word; your mind must be dominated by the Word, you must think through the Word again and again and again, till you form an understanding and a perception from the Word. Remember, your manner of life is the product of your mind (Proverbs 23:7a), therefore, “Meditate upon (the Word); give thyself wholly to (the Word); that thy profiting may appear to all” (1 Timothy 4:15). “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…;” “…meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do all that (He says): for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” (Colossians 3:16; Joshua 1:8). Because your lifestyle is the character of your mind: and because your life also must divulge Christ to the world: therefore let the mind of Christ be in you (Philippians 2:5, 1 Corinthians 2:16). 3. Speak the Word You see, the Lord revealed in Matthew 12:34 that, “…out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” Indicating that, a man’s words reveal his thoughts. Meaning, what is in you, is what comes out of you; “A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things” (Matthew 12:35). Therefore, the Word in your heart must also be in your mouth, for what you believe gives you what you say. Notice that, the Lord said something like, “…if ye have faith…ye shall say…” (Matthew 21:21). Why? Because, the power of faith, work through words. Again, notice that the Lord said in Matthew 12:36 that, “…by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Even as Romans 10:10 declares that, “With the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Which means that, even though, “…the Gospel of Christ…is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…” (Romans 1:16), yet, after that one has believed in the Gospel, he must as well confess what he has believed (“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak” 2 Corinthians 4:13), before it will have effect on his life. So you may believe with your heart that Jesus is Lord, but you must confess His Lordship over your life, before He takes His place as the Lord of your life, even though He is still Lord without you. That’s, it’s good to have the Word in your heart, but you must put the Word on your lips, so that you will experience the reality, and the power of the Word manifesting in your life, to see the impact of the Word obviously on your life. 4. Act on the Word You see, your words control your actions, what you say determine what you do, even as the way you talk determines the way you act; for your words is the power that control your lifestyle. Therefore, as you continue to talk the Word, you will definitely act the Word, even unconsciously. Because, the thoughts that dominate your mind, which produces the kind of words you speak, naturally, causes you to move in a certain direction, or live in a certain way. Therefore, when you believe, and you speak, your actions will be a product of it; “So speak ye, and do so, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty” (James 2:12). Thus, “This (Word) shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” “Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee” (Joshua 1:8, 1 Timothy 4:16). Finally brethren, if you will completely trust in the Word, meditate on the Word, speak the Word, and act accordingly, then, you will be basically schooled by the Word, and be entirely led by the Holy Spirit, and you will frequently receive ministrations from the angels of God. My dear, you can’t imagine the kind of life you will live then, and the level where you will be operating from. How can you live an ordinary life; when all your thoughts come from above? You see life from a higher perspective, you sight all things, and you just know that you are above all. You can’t have fear, is not possible, because, you deal with realities, not shadows. You see what others can not see, you hear what others can not hear; and you know beyond this world. You don’t even think as a man; that’s what the Apostle Paul attest of as “…we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16). You can’t have the mind of Christ: and be struggling with the devil; he doesn’t even exist for you, for you just put him under your feet, treading over him, and destroying all his works; and reigning by grace, through righteousness, and then you know indeed that, you are a king and a priest unto the Most High. Don’t you know that knowledge is power? So if the Word that gives the knowledge of the Almighty is in you, what do you think? Wow! If you want to receive Christ as your Lord, and personal Saviour, kindly pray thus: “O LORD GOD, I COME TO YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, YOUR WORD SAYS, “…WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED” I ASK JESUS TO COME INTO MY HEART TO BE THE LORD OF MY LIFE. I RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE INTO MY SPIRIT, I DECLARE I AM SAVED; I AM BORN AGAIN; I AM A CHILD OF GOD; I NOW HAVE CHRIST DWELLING IN ME, AND GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN ME THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD!
