I read a news release by a group called the PDP Vanguard, Lagos signed by Prince Akin Williams warning the Party against the negatives that the nuances of Chief Bode George ala his desperation to draft in Jimi Agbaje as the PDP Guber candidate for Lagos holds. Methinks that there should be no alternative to free, open and fair primaries in a democratic space, so I align myself with all those calling for open party primaries without any kind of imposition. I support an even platform for all those jostling for their Party tickets, in the PDP KORO should be allowed to square it out fairly with Jimi Agbaje, and in the APC Shasore, Ganiyu Solomon and others should be allowed an even turf against Ambode, such will deepen the fabrics of our democratic voyage. In Delta State Governor Uduaghan must not slant the curve against Victor Ochei, Okowa, Obielum, Mrs Elejeme, Orubebe et al in the pursuit of his evident choice ditto Tony Obuh he should allow an even playing turf for all the Guber Aspirants as such is the profound path to walk. Imposition of Candidates by Party Chieftains and Godfathers corrode the very essence of democratic choice. It narrows down the democratic space. And it squeezes and squashes every juice left in the menu of sane democratic engagement. As the 2015 General Election closes in dont ask me where I stand or who my candidates are? Surely in due course I shall be faithful to point to my readers, followers and fans alike where and to which candidate we should cast our votes, and I promise to do so humbly, nay with reasons and not sentiments.
