DON’T CONFUSE FAILING IN A PARTICULAR PROJECT WITH FAILING IN LIFE. “I press toward the mark for the prize.” Philippians 3:14 I still believe there is nothing like failure. What really exists and which is erroneously called failure is quitting. If things don’t work out the way you planned; just say “I have not succeeded yet”, never say “I have failed.” You may change your plans to reach your goal but never your decision to reach it. Do you know this guy? AGE Failed in business 22 Defeated in legislator election 23 Failed in business again 24 Loss sweetheart 26 Nervous breakdown 27 Defeated for speaker 29 Defeated for elector 31 Defeated for congress 34 Defeated again for congress 39 Defeated for senate 46 Defeated for Vice President 47 Defeated for senate again 49 Elected for president 51 Do you know him? You’re right – Abraham Lincoln, Now let’s do something positive. Pick a pen, cancel the words “failed” and “defeated” from the table above and write in the words “Didn’t succeed yet.” Fine, now you will get a positive success table and that is how yours will certainly look. The car manufacturer, Henry Ford, said “Failure is simply an opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” Listen to Lao Tzu, the mystic philosopher of ancient China that was born in 604 BC, “Failure is the foundation of success, and the means by which it is achieved.” Napoleon Hill was a success strategist and widely respected author. He was born on the 26th of October, 1883 and died November 8, 1970. He was an advisor to President Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1933-1936. In 1937, he wrote a book that became an all time bestseller – “Think And Grow Rich.” At the time of his death in 1970, the book has already sold over 20 million copies. Listen to him “One of the most common causes of failure is quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat. Failure cannot cope with persistence.” LET’S PRAY: Father, pick me up from the discouragement of unsuccessful attempts; give me the finishing grace and crown my efforts with success in Jesus Name.. SUCCESS ACTIVITY: Have you given up because of several unsuccessful attempts? Don’t let failure defeat you. Get up and try again… Keep at it until you succeed.
