DRAGONS…… A NIGHTCLUB THAT EVERYONES WAITED FOR IN LAE HAD FINALLY OPENED ITS DOORS 3 WEEKS AGO, TOTALLY AN EPIC NIGHT: What made the Dragons opening in Lae, so interesting wasnt that Lae’s been waiting for it — it’s that nearly all of Highlands Highway has been waiting for it. City music & dance lovers have been talking about the new club in Lae for months. Of course, at that time it had no name, and was only described in details. The word was that the club would be large, upbeat and provide the additional edge to the night life entertainment available in Lae. After months of waiting, Dragons finally opened its doors on the 29th of November and oh what a night to remember. In a word, the place was loud — loud because of an incredible sound system in an incredible space, loud because of the insane lights, loud because everyone was dressed to the nines and loud because everyone had a great time enjoying themselves in the party filled zone. For those that enjoy a catch up drink with mates Dragons has sidebars that have reduced sound levels. It may have seemed even louder because everything was new and the ceilings were high. There was no hassle at the door & security was top notch. This is an important thing to many in Wopa country, and this is what many have been waiting to see in a proper, large-scale club in Lae. Dragons is proudly 100% PNG owned. The club provides employment for nearly 100 local staff. Dragons is located opposite the Air Niugini office, Minape building 2nd floor. They open at 5pm till late every Tuesday thru to Saturday. On Mondays they cater for private functions. Additionally Dragons does host pre-booked gatherings as well. There will be a HEINIKIN PROMOTION RUNNING: BUY 8 FOR THE PRICE OF 6. LADIES FREE BEFORE 9 PM. Since it’s opening the wisest partiers still show up to stand in line at 10:30pm, it seems like Lae’s nightlife has completely transformed after Dragons first opened its doors. For more proof of this attitude you need only look at their Friday & Saturday night line-up. The place is always packed with fun. Dragons also have their own original DJ’s & provide live music from time to time. They play for the same partiers that Lae caters to — hard-core dancers, music nerds, hipsters that like to shake it (and look good), recovering 90s club rats, kids that never want to hear the same thing twice and of course the great local hits one can never tire of.
