A period of more persistent rain for a time early afternoon. Snow to 500m about North Canterbury and 600m about Kaikoura. Skies clearing late evening. Frosty conditions likely overnight. Southwest breezes at times. BANKS PENINSULA Temperature High: 8 degrees Overnight Low: 2 degrees Wind Direction: S Rainfall: 3-5mm Details: Occasional rain, falling as snow to 500m, clearing by evening. Cold with Southwest Breezes at times. SOUTH + MID CANTERBURY Temperature High: 8 degrees Overnight Low: -1 degrees Wind Direction: S Rainfall: 3-5mm Details: Periods of rain this morning.
