DREMC crews are standing by in Lynchburg, waiting for TVA to arrive and remove a fallen transmission line caused by a broken pole that has blocked traffic on St. Rt. 55 since mid-morning. Apparently, a high velocity wind gust caused the TVA pole to break. The 46-kva TVA transmission line was de-energized and grounded, but it fell on a DREMC line to cause a substation operation. No outage resulted, but co-op members in the Lynchburg area might have noted a blink. Both lanes of the highway were closed, and traffic was re-routed for several hours.
