DRIVER CPC FOR BUS AND HGV DRIVERS September 2008 was the launch - TopicsExpress

DRIVER CPC FOR BUS AND HGV DRIVERS September 2008 was the launch date for Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) training for Bus and Coach Drivers. For Drivers having passed a Bus or Coach driving test before this date it meant that over the next 5 years (till 10th September 2013) they had to carry out 35 hours training to retain their licence. This Professional training is normally 5x7hour days and can be on a number of subjects from Economical driving to customer care. CPC Training also came into place for lorry drivers in September 2009 giving a deadline to complete this 35 hours Training by September 2014. It has to be said that it is the Licence holders responsibility to take this training by the dead line date so that they are legally able to drive for a living. I have found that to find time off of work to do this training and allow staff to have extra unpaid time off is a real problem but have found a trainer that will not only come to Braunton and train but will also split the 7 hour course up into 3 ½ evenings. This allows you to do a days work and then carry out your training. We need at least 8 people to make a training course viable so if you need all 35 hours or just a couple of 7 hour courses to top up what you have already done we can all help each other and get some local training over the winter evenings. If you are interested please give me a ring so that as locals we can all help each other. Ben Byrom 01271 812295
