DYING TO YOURSELF. 6 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I loved you, so you must love one another. ( John 13:34 ) Jesus has given us a commandment, not an option to love one another. Loving my spouse, family, neighbors, colleagues’ means making that supreme choice to put aside self- love, self– will and self – interest. Every decision that I now take will be according to and pleasing to the Word of God. I am sacrificing my interest and desires and doing what is pleasing to God and my loved ones. Now I am proving my love for my God and my loved ones. Loving others at the cost of my own pleasures and desires is a very difficult decision. But if I am listening to the voice of the Good shepherd, I will hear Him say “Come and die – be dead to sin and alive to love” If I heed His voice and live according to His Word now everything in my life will be restored. In last five messages on DYING TO YOURSELF we have seen what is dying and how to die. We have also seen what are the blessings we receive by dying to ourselves. Though the life of dying to self is difficult but not impossible. But when we focus on God, everything becomes possible. And we have also seen, without dying to self we cannot please God neither we can serve God. After all following God or serving God is difficult ordeal but worth going for it. Blessings are immense and lifelong. That is Christian life. And we have made a choice to follow Jesus as our God. He gives us command to love one another. And when the question comes of loving one another, self has no place in our Christian life. In Christian life love should be our motto. Love is base of Christian life. Love is breath of Christian life.And without love we cannot follow Jesus neither we can serve Jesus. Hallelujah. Let us confirm our earlier decision to either follow Jesus or serve Jesus by confessing to Jesus, our failures and mistakes in our lives in following him or serving him. Let us reassure him of our commitment to follow him to serve him. Lord Jesus, once again I come before you to confess my failures in serving you. I have failed many times in dying to myself while following you. Please forgive me and cleanse my heart with your precious blood. Thanks for forgiving me.Lord give me strength to carry your cross in my life. So that I may serve you and live victorious life on earth. Amen.
