Daawat. 7-6-2014. It was my My Wifes cousin Maasra and Adil Baigs Daughters wedding. Paigah Palace was the venue. Left house around 8 PM, early if one is following HDT. Hmmmm...HDT? Hyderabad Daawat-going Time!!! We took the Lakdikapul - decoratively illuminated Tankbund - dark Necklace Road - Minister/Ronald Ross Road route. I noticed the Duha has come in his uncles vintage black shining Cadillac. Too early right, I said to my brother-in-law sitting with his father Abid Nawab. The Dulha was there, but no sign of the Qazi. I learnt, the Qazi was there for sometime and then he vanished as he had to read the Nikah at other places. Met Friends Hamed and Shafeeq Mahajir, Waseem Siddiqui of Deccan Pen Stores, Cousins Fazal, Sultan Mohiuddin-Saif bhai, Ghouse Mohiuddin-Qutub Bhai, Siddiq Hussain Khan-Siddiq Bhai, Yamin, Ahmed, Faisal, Fasi, Lateef, Nikah was solemnised at 9.30 PM. Greeted the Dulha, his uncle Ameeruddin, Dulhans uncles Humayun Yar Khan and Hyder Yar Khan (Murtuza), brother Naushad, all of them St. Georgians in the traditional manner. Once the nikah was read and mubarakbadis given dinner was announced. Shared the table with Saif Bhai, Qutub Bhai, Siddiq bhai, Mehmood bhai, Jaffer Bhai, (Jaffer nb), his son-in-law Faisal, Tom Chacha ( Nawab Aliuddin). Choice of Rotis. Seafood Platter. Luqmi and Sheek Kabab. Dry Chicken Tamatar. Dry Boneless Mutton. Two types of chicken and mutton curries. Biryani. Ice-cream. Kund. Outside the dining hall on the lawn tea was served. As I was leaving the place, stopped and admired the beautiful black shining Cadillac again as cousin Sami was photographing the car.
