Dad and Mom bought several acres of property in the early 80s,where Copper Creek runs into the Clinch River...Copper Creek Viaduct. They planted 1600 black walnut trees on an 8 acre plantation, across from the creek. Mom still tells me of how she crossed the creek MANY times and even climbed to the top of the mountain, noted on the left in this picture. My dad sure did put her to work!! The trees have several years to mature; however, Mom and I have recently seen some considerable growth. My late father spent a lot of time on his tree farm and would call it his cathedral in the woods. Was a place where he could be alone and reflect. Thoreaus Walden Pond? What a rare beauty!
