Dad update: Yesterday he walked, with a supporting/ rolling walker, around the nurses station and sat up in a chair for several hours. He did good. Hes eating decent now and getting strength back too. Oxygen levels were low but starting to hang level now. (mom is helping him eat and get a shave here in these two pics) I can see now why hip fracture patients are so fragile. Many dont make it, it seems. Unless someone is maximizing all of the treatment, I can see how easily a rapid decline could happen. Its hard for them to recover after long periods of being under anesthesia and without food or water, while waiting on surgery. We are still at ETMC Tyler waiting now for insurance approval and placement in a nursing care facility, which could take several more days. Hes familiar with Cedar Lake Nursing, Malakoff, and wants to go there for rehab. Your PRAYERS are still working and God is in control. Thank you! :)
