Dad was diagnosed about 3 AM with a UTI. Why the nursing home doc does not do a weekly urinalysis rather than letting him become septic is beyond me. It is much less expensive than a hospital stay. I told them over 2 weeks ago to check it and the symptoms. What do I know....I have only taken care of him for 7 years. The HBIC told me this speech and sleep problem was the result of dialysis....no it is NOT! argh! I only have one regret in my life and that is I wish I had PA degree to effectively be an educated and informed spokesperson for my family when they are sick. They are running more tests on him to see if there are any other issues and giving him dialysis while inpatient. His neuro tests all came back negative. His brain is fine but does not operate right with a UTI. OK, done ranting for at least one hour! My Dad is a trooper, he has been thru so much and he keeps on keeping on....Charlie and I are going for a walk in the river....yes, its raining again! We dont care!
