But with him hes got a new Delorme InReach Explorer, a nifty waterproof phone sized contraption that incorporates GPS tracking, a global SOS alert capability and two way SMS messaging, all via satellite. Today, on my computer, I tracked their progress as they left the north side of the Brooks Peninsula, crossed Brooks Bay and headed into a beach on the south side of Quatsino Sound. And Im about to send him an SMS. Brilliant! It was our trial run for the device, and from this end Im most impressed..well have these along with us on all future Hidden Places trips.
