Daily Blog Entry #3 Seabourn Sojourn Northern Europe Cruise Baltic Sea 8/11/13–8/25/13 Day 2, Monday 8/12 — It’s been a bit frustrating getting to Copenhagen. There have been multiple delays and problems with our aircrafts. Getting into Heathrow we had to go to another terminal to connect with our final flight. That meant we had to exit the secure area and get repoofed and regroped again. Chris has Global Entry Access and isn’t used to waiting in long lines. Luckily we were able to relax and refresh in the huge British Airways club lounge #1 — fantastic set up with complimentary showers and dressing rooms, a hot buffet, salad bar, cold cut trays, dessert bars, coffee/tea bars, and of course, booz bars. I managed to lose my hair barrette somewhere, so I guess I’m on another mission to find a new one. Airport WiFi proved to be frustrating, too. One network was all bogged down, and the other blocked all the pages I wanted to access, including Facebook. Connecting flight gate information was zero help to us, too, until the very last minute when it finally flashed up “NOW BOARDING.” The gate, of course, was way across in another building, and we had to board a train to get there. We ran almost the entire way. Once at the gate they delayed it for 45 minutes. Criminy! I’m glad I walk for exercise! I’ve really gotten it in yesterday and today. My new Abeos are doing terrific for my feet. I just love Brits and the phrases they use — little things, like “Would you like white coffee?” Out of the blue Chris decides he doesn’t like me blogging about the trip. [Say, what?] He doesn’t want people to know we will be gone for two weeks. I think he forgets who’s taking care of the house — a true, real-life, super woman by the name of EZ. She loves sweets, so we are saving our chocolates and other treats for her. Our hotel here in Copenhagen is beautiful. We’re staying at the Radisson Blu across the street from the Tivoli Gardens. Tonight we are staying in and resting and will probably just go down to their sidewalk café for dinner. The weather is so refreshing at 61°! Room windows are fully open. We may just have to sleep with them like that. It was 104 °when we left home. It finally got dark about 9:30 and the lights from the buildings came on. Wow! Exhausted, we decided to just walk a block or two to see what we could see. Man, there are a LOT of bike riders.
