Daily Devotion for August 2, 2014 His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:23 I receive compassion today dear friends, how about you? Each morning can start new with the mercy of God’s compassion and faithfulness or we can start with our check lists - complaints to be filed, people to deal with, yesterday’s left over “to do” items, overwhelming things to accomplish, places to be, items to correct, paperwork to be completed, etc. It still amazes me that I can get up, spend time with the Lord and still allow my mind to focus on “things” instead of the compassion of God. I heard this song today and it was a wonderful reminder for me that God’s faithfulness removes our check list. We just have to allow His mercy to take control and for us to surrender us and our “list” to Him. Now that doesn’t mean we don’t have to take care of things, but with Jesus beside us, our lists can be one by one and not so overwhelming that they take control of our thoughts and actions. Surrender today, feel the presence of Jesus as you read or sing these lyrics. He is faithful and compassion is new for you today. God bless.
