Daily Encounter: JULY 22 2014 The Longest Leg “He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: He taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.” - Psalm 147:10 Today’s Scripture Reading: Psalm 110:1-2, Psalm 147:10 Why is your leg important in the battle of life? With your legs, you can crush down the enemy and run the race of life. In essence, the leg stands as your instrument for possessing your possession. Without your legs, you are limited in the things that you can do. In this side of the world (Africa, Nigeria to be precise), when people say that a person has long legs, what they mean is that he or she has got the human connections to get what they desire. Whether it’s a job they are looking for or admission into university, or a contract with the government. Basically, people make use of these “long legs” to get ahead in life. But God is not impressed by our human connections. He has clearly stated in His word that He does not want us to rely on the legs of a man. Why, you may be asking? Man is limited. Today, that man who you claim to be relying on because he is in a position of power may be no more; or he may be dismissed from that job. What do you do at that point? Also, man can fail you, but God will never fail you. It will interest you to know that God who has the longest of legs. Whenever He steps into a place, the earth shakes. He sits in heaven and plants His feet here on earth. Who else can have such a long leg? This is why it is important to contact divine presence through praise. When you do, it will be impossible to lose any battle in life (Psalm 16:11). Prayer For The Day: Ask God for a fresh outpouring of the garment of praise in your life Faith Confession: Lord as I praise you, I trust that you will step into my situation with your long legs
