Daily Stir 12-6-14 “DO HIS WORDS ABIDE IN YOU” John 15:7 says, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” God’s Word Translation says, “If you live in me and what I say lives in you, then ask for anything you want, and it will be yours.” God’s Word is what God is saying. What He is saying is what He wants, it’s His will. God’s Word is God’s will. Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” I John 5:14 says, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:” The Message Bible says, “And how bold and free we then become in his presence, freely asking according to his will, sure that he’s listening. And if we’re confident that he’s listening, we know that what we’ve asked for is as good as ours.” Once we determine what God’s will is then we can have boldness and confidence because we know He hears us. In other words, faith begins where the will of God is known. That’s why when you’ve done all you know to do, you need to know some more. More of the word of God, because God’s word is a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path (Psalms 119:105). Psalm 119:130 says, “The entrance and unfolding of Your words give light; their unfolding gives understanding (discernment and comprehension) to the simple.” Some Christians say if God wants to do it He’ll do it. Well, what if the sinner said if God wants to save me He’ll save me. Matthew 9:29 says, According to your faith be it unto you. God makes the provision and it’s up to you to believe it. As we said before, faith comes from knowing the Will of God. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” What scriptures are you standing on that promise you what you are believing for? If you don’t have scripture, you’re not praying in line with the word (the will) of God. Chris
