DailyPost reports that more than one explosion was set off in Kano state today: There is confusion presently in Kano as twin explosions reportedly occurred in a densely populated area of Sabon-geri. DailyPost gathered that one of the explosions occurred along the new road park, and the other went off almost immediately at the new Shoprite, Ado Bayero road. DailyPost cannot confirm the nature and source of the blast, but our source in Kano says people are running helter skelter, after the heavy sound was heard in the ancient city. He said he has been forced to put off his Generator which was on prior to the blast, due to the ongoing panic in the area. Vanguard newspaper says: A high calibre improvised explosive device went off inside the crowded New Road motor park located at Sabon Gari, a predominantly Christian quarter of Kano metropolis leaving scores dead. The blast an eye witness said ripped through a bus station in Kano as passengers boarded buses out of the city. Explosives, apparently concealed in a bag that was abandoned by two men disguised as travellers, went off at about 3:00 pm (1500 GMT) at the New Motor Park in the predominantly Christian Sabon Gari neighbourhood of the city. There was no immediate indication of the number of casualties, people at the bus station told AFP.
