Dal Khalsa sends alarm bells ringing on the rise of majoritarian extremism =>Sending alarm bells ringing, the Dal Khalsa has said the rise of majoritarian extremism is on rise in the country with BJP’s PM pick Narendra Modi as its face. Holding him responsible for the massacre of Muslims and barbaric victimization of Sikh farmers in Gujarat, party head Harchranjit Singh Dhami said Modi’s candidature is “in total contrast to India’s claim of being a democratic and a secular country.” He called upon the freedom loving people including Kashmiris, Sikhs and other ethnic minorities to join hands against the rise of majority extremism. He said by invoking Lord Ram to woo Hindu votes and spewing venom against Muslims, the Modi has made to look like the Election Commission a spineless and toothless organ of the Indian state. “Since Modi is riding on the wave of majority extremism, EC won’t be able to take action against him, that’s foregone conclusion”, he claimed. He said as per his memory, no Sikh or Muslim leader has ever invoked his/her Guru or Allah to woo the votes during electioneering. Nor does any Sikh or Muslim leader have displayed the portrait of his or her Almighty on the dais. He said it’s ironic that Sikhs and Muslims were being labeled as fundamentalist and extremist in this country whereas majority extremism is being camouflaged under euphoria of so-called patriotism. He took strong exception over the harassment of Kashmiri students by pro-Indian students in Greater Noida. He said earlier too same so-called patriots unleashed reign of terror on Kashmiri students in UP. He reminded that during the peak days of Sikh armed struggle, Sikh students were beaten up and killed by hooligans in 1988 in Bidar town of Karnataka, which led to furious bloody retaliation in Punjab. He said the people at helm of affairs in New Delhi must learn lessons and do not allow such frenzied elements to provoke or ignite the situation. According to Dal Khalsa release, Modi has a dreadful approach, Rahul as childish whereas Kejriwal as deceitful. He further said, for minorities and struggling people it hardly matters who wins this election and who occupies the chair and who reaches the parliament—but for them main concern was to protect and safeguard their lives, aspirations and honour.
