Dalai Lama slams Putin: Tibetan leader latest to criticise Russian President The Dalai Lama has become the latest religious figure to criticise Russian President Vladimir #Putin over Russias invasion of Ukraine. He says Putin is leading #Russia towards isolation and is hurting his own country with his desire to rebuild the Berlin Wall. The Dalai Lama, whos comments came during an interview with German newspaper the World on Sunday, is the spiritual leader of Tibet. China invaded Tibet in 1950 and has ruled it ever since. But the Dalai Lama nonetheless compares #China favourably to Russia. He says whereas China will in the long-run follow international rules, he doesnt think the same can be said for Russia.
