Hi Rob, We just, FINALLY, after a month full of debating and anticipation over you brilliant and fascinating humans, got the final verdict from CBC on this season’s cast. I am so sorry I am not writing with better news. It is with great sadness that I inform you that for this first season of “Canada’s Smartest Person”, you have not been chosen. I can tell you that you were a real hit with everyone, not to mention absolutely dominating our intelligence test, and your not being chosen for this season has nothing to do with your vibrant, inspiring energy and superior intelligence, but more to do with match ups, fitting people together appropriately and with geographical diversity, etc. We are so happy to have met you, and you were a quick favourite for Team Casting based on application alone. You only elevated your status in our hearts further with your phone interview, intelligence test and Skype interview. You stood out amongst thousands, every step of the way and we were SO SO proud to present you. You are great. We can only hope to get a season two because the CBC could definitely use some Rob MacArthur! We will not soon forget you, and will contact you if anything comes up before season two that would interest a man of your considerable, unique talents and beautiful, beautiful brain.
