DanceHer is exTREMEly blessed and BLISSED (in particular) for this past 8 days or so, of the most concentrated musical collaborations and expansive experiences... Its all been so much and so deep, Ive barely been posting here. (You missed me?) Starting with several superBroVenture Days into Yosemite with Stephen Kaminanda, deepening our long-running ManTIme into new levels of familiarity and friendShip, and getting SO steeped in the secrets of his creative production process (even getting to chime in a bit here and there with welcomed observations and nudges, but mostly just getting SCHOOLED on AWESOME!). AND: he even had me come up onstage sunrise Sunday morning (BIG sound, many 100s of The MOST lovely magical Peeps!), and join in with him for a 4-minute ambient coLab to start off his 2:45 minute set, me on my flute and he singing... gosh... damn... I like THAT stuff...! ;) Then that Enchanted Forest weekend with Chryseph Honeybear and Jamila Remedy Honeybear: WOW. What an intense journey THAT turned out to be. The Tea Lounge was HUGE: 250 folks in tHere, and it was LOVELY! (Philippe Lewis: nailed it!) So rewarding and creative and filled with challenges I was MOSTLY able to rise up to. I ended up on both Friday and Sunday nights in this unexpected defacto Stage Manager roll, in ADDITION to prepping and dealing with the excitement and potency of providing the live music and tech support for those two angels offering DownTemple Interludes between sets (which ROCKED: so many peeps were really nourished and delighted!, specially Sunday: wow yes oh me oh my!), but in ADDITION to all that, I was MC-ing and liasoning for artists and filling generators and wrangling sound problems and helping to set up acts... two 10-hour nights. A very new and different face on my Festie Experience. (I kinda missed my own little universe of DragonRiding...!) I had an afternoon on the Monday after all that (and a good nights SLEEP!) of my idea of pure Pig-in-Shit-HEAVEN: setting up all my SoundMagic Gizmos on the picnic table behind Cabin 4 and having a 5-hour geek fest of totally bizarre and sweet and (often awful!, often epic amazing!) jamzez with some of the EF Headliners: WhiteBear, Quanta, and BioLumigen (and HUGH: who are YOU, man: what a GUY!). These guys are so freakin GREAT: they are successful at what they do because they are really really GOOD at it, and so smart and clear and sensitive and excited about all the possibiliTease of SOUND. And THEN: coming BACK around full-circle to be welcomed at The MysteryHouse (what a freakin-lovely place!) by Michael Brinker and Marion Ray and Jasmine Soleil and Mathias Warnes and Kyrstyn Pixton and Linzeiah Liu (Gosh, yAll: so good, really. Perfect!), and finding Amma Lightweaver and Theo Brama here to set it all up again, and have an 8-hour conversation. YES. And it looks as if were heading out to The Woodz somewhere around here tomorrow for MORE. So stoked to be welcoming those two to join me and Isaac Cotec and Niayh Freeman for my Renegade Bliss ShowCase evening sunday night at The Lounge at PhotoSynthesis. Were gonna make The Pretty Pretty for yall! And speaking OF: wow, Jon Emm: Artificer Jeweler: YOU... what a ROCK. Holding it down for me and Chrys and Jam at EF, and for inviting to me to share that night of music at Photo: thank YOU! Now: sleepz. Love Yall!
