Daniel Agger has claimed he’s prepared to snub Barcelona and stay at Liverpool, regardless of whether his side can clinch Champions League football. The Dane was the subject of a bid from the Spanish champions earlier this month, which was rejected by the Reds, and Agger insists he has no interest of forcing a move. The centre-back, who was recently appointed vice-captain by manager Brendan Rodgers, said: ‘Barcelona are obviously a big club, but I have never thought about leaving Liverpool, unless they want to sell. ‘Everyone at the club are an integral part of my life. I. I have a YNWA tattoo. ‘Frankly I don’t mind if we don’t finish in the top four, I love the club.’ After failing to land either Agger or Chelsea’s David Luiz, Barca look to have abandoned their search for defensive cover. New manager Gerardo Martino, said: ‘A new center back? I’m happy with the team I have. ‘There’s always the January window if we need anything. Last year’s problems in defense were the result of injuries. We have enough options if everybody’s fit.’ (Metro)
