Daniel update, March 1, 2014: A month ago today, I was sitting in the neuro-ICU at big wake holding the hand of my semi-conscious child with eyes swollen shut from tears. Today!!!! I am watching him get stronger everyday with the help of doctors, friends, family and even people we had never met before. Tears? Yes, of pure joy and gratefulness. Our stress level has decreased in some areas, increased in some, but overall, we are pushing forward and ready for D to keep getting better. One item of interest, Daniel recently has had two young friends get their license. Oh joy...rapture... :) The first time he went with one of these fine fellows after his incident I was at work, (Dale was home) and I pulled into the driveway, got out of my car as Daniel stepped out of the friends car. My heart slammed against my chest and my breath hitched. OMGoodness! WHAT? I love these boys like they are my very own and it wouldnt matter if Daniel was in a tank, Id be afraid. Ive seen him drive off and back with these kids a few times now. I smile, wave, and tell him I love him each time. Then as I walk into the house and he walks out, I say quietly, put a helmet on. By the way, it doesnt work... :D Thank you all...enjoy your Saturday.
