Danni Corderys Artist Statement, who will be displaying her work in this years WSD Exhibition: I enjoy uniting art, crafts and design, dabbling in the old and the new, traditional and innovative ideas. As an artist there is nothing I enjoy more than integrating layers and textures, creating curious beauty that is diverse yet cohesive. I love to merge media’s such as ink, sewing, rubbings, line drawings and more to create intriguing designs and art. I like to combine bold colours with translucent textures, and fine lines, creating stories and worlds from the surface they are placed. I am a fan of revisiting old techniques and discovering new. I am interested in everything from one off mixed media pieces to commercial hand crafted patterns and computer aided illustrations, each piece I create leads me to something new.
